Our mission

To lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ as we worship God, connect to others, and serve others.

We Believe:

  • In One God -- The Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  • That the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary for faith and Christian living.
  • That man is born with a fallen nature and is, therefore, inclined to evil, and that continually.
  • That the final impenitent are hopelessly and eternally lost.
  • That the Atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race; and that whosoever repents and believes in the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin.
  • That  believers are sanctified wholly subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • That the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to entire sanctification, of believers.
  • That the Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and final judgement will take place.

Most people think of "worship" in terms of music.   And they are not wrong.   Music as part of any church service is indeed worship.   But worship is not limited to a certain time or place.   It is not a series of songs on Sunday morning.  True worship is

reflected in the lifestyle and choices we make as Christians.

Mark 12:30 says that we are to "Love God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength."   All is not limited to a certain place or

time on Sunday morning.  It is in every moment of every day.

The best way to really know and understand what we believe at Carthage Nazarene is being involved in one of our connect groups. Love cannot exist outside of action - which at Carthage Nazarene is best shown through our groups.

We'd love for you to join a group in your community, and begin connecting with others with the same heart and mission.

Fulfilling the Great Commission will make a unique mark on our community and our world. By serving others, we show that love of Christ and receive the love of God in return. This unique mark of serving flows out of worship and connecting with others.
